The DB2 z/OS Database Administrator will provide DB2 z/OS technical and subject matter expertise to the suite of projects supporting the critical mission functions of the Social Security Administration, Office of Systems Architecture, Division of Database Services (DDBS).
This work effort involves providing mainframe maintenance support focused on mainframe DB2 databases running on z/OS. The resource will be responsible for validation environment DB2 database development, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Candidate will be part of an oncall rotation. Provide customer project support with thorough analysis and offering alternative solutions, evaluations, and advice on complex DB2-related problems. The resource will be responsible for conforming to customer standards and requirements. The resource will function as part of a team, inclusive of customers, and must demonstrate sufficient communication skills to ensure success.
Experience with DB2 load and unload utilities (e.g., File-AID, IBM utilities).
Experience with DB2 database administration. including backup, recovery, performance tuning.
Experience with mainframe-based software configuration management systems such as Endevor.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to independently research problems and provide solutions.
Working knowledge of/experience with Jira,Git-Bit Bucket, Confluence
Working REXX knowledge -
Experience with Control-M or other mainframe-based job scheduling tools.
